Locator or bar attachment dentures are secured to dental implants for added stability. They snap into place for better function and comfort, eliminating slipping and improving confidence compared to traditional dentures.
We surgically place dental implants into your jaw. Your denture attaches securely via a locator or bar system. It snaps in for a more stable, comfortable, and confident fit than traditional dentures.
Locator or bar dentures provide extra stability by snapping securely onto implants. They reduce slipping, improve chewing power, and offer more confidence than traditional removable dentures.
Locator or Bar Attachment Dentures
Secure dentures for better fit and comfort.
If your dentures are loose, uncomfortable, or hard to chew with, locator or bar attachment dentures may be a great fit. They’re best for patients who already have or are getting dental implants.
You’ll first receive implants. Once healed, the denture is custom-made to snap into place using locators or a bar system. It fits securely and comfortably. You’ll enjoy better chewing and speech with fewer worries about slipping or discomfort.
Locator or bar attachment dentures take several visits over a few months. Implants are placed first, requiring healing time (3–6 months). Once healed, impressions are taken and the custom dentures are made to fit securely over the attachments.
These dentures snap onto implants, but regular cleanings and maintenance are still needed. You'll need occasional adjustments, and it's important to remove and clean them daily to keep your mouth healthy and prevent soreness or odor.
You may need a short adjustment period to get used to the feel and fit. Eating and speaking will improve over time. Maintain excellent hygiene and return for regular cleanings to keep the implants and attachments healthy.
